If you are interested in history, the American Civil War, and want to help preserve the memory of one of the defining events in the evolution of the United States of America by serving as a living historian and educator, please consider becoming a member of the 3rd Maine. We welcome infantry, musician and civilian women impressionists, and you do not have to know anything about being a living historian to get started. We will help you to begin and support you as you develop your impression. Right now is a great time to get started with us. The year 2011 marks the beginning of the 150th anniversary of the War, and that year and the years that follow will see sesquicentennial commemorations of the major events and battles, including 1st Bull Run, Antietam, Gettysburg, and more.
